Seddon Park Amenities

Melocco and Moore have been recently engaged by Campbelltown City Council to design and document a new sporting and amenities facility at Seddon park. This building is designed to be the centrepiece of the new major upgrade to the existing sporting precinct and is seen as a sculptural element in the landscape.

The design chose to split the program into two buildings, with the community facilities of canteen and meeting room relating to the civic centre of the park,  and the sporting amenities portion relating to the new main sporting oval. Linking and covering both elements is an twisting pitched roof. This low slung form also provides much needed shade and shelter and gives the impression of a large paper plane that has landed on the oval. A careful and considered use of robust materials, marked the design approach.
