FRIEND PARK CHILDCARE CENTRE

Melocco and Moore have led a multi-disciplinary team to undertake the design and documentation of the Friend Park child care centre. The building is a major alteration and addition to the original Baby Health centre which has been on the site at Wentworthville since 1944.

The design doubled the capacity of the centre and provided light filled, breezy, stimulating spaces for children. The director and carers now have their own dedicated spaces, where they can meet with parents and recharge during brakes. Two pavilions mark the major play spaces and the breezeway extensions transition to the new garden area.
