Merrylands
Holroyd City Council commissioned Melocco and Moore to design and document a new amenities building and grandstand for the sporting precinct at Merrylands Park. The building is located at the junction of three ovals, which are used as stormwater detention for the suburb. The amenities are raised on a concrete podium, which provides stepped grandstand seating and also acts as a stormwater weir. The facility is divided into two parts in response to local pedestrian flows from surrounding areas. A large folded roof form links the two blocks and provides shelter to the external seating.
